The Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI) held its 12th meeting from 20 to 23 June 2017 in Strasbourg. Discussions mainly focussed on the preparation of two standard setting documents, respectively on pluralism of media and transparency of media ownership and on internet intermediaries. Bth standard setting texts should be finalised at the next meeting, from 5 to 8 December. The CDMSI also admitted a new observer organisation, the human rights defenders NGOs network IFEX.
