Participants of the "EYF (Re)Generation" seminar

For the third consecutive year the European Youth Foundation implemented a seminar for registered NGOs .The seminar, organised from 18 to 20 February 2015 at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg, brought together representatives of national and local NGOs in order to evaluate the progress made during the last 2 years, as well as strengthen the collaboration between EYF and NGOS.

Participants were able to give feedback on the new pilot activity grants introduced in 2013 and intended for national and local NGOs.

By holding the EYF (Re)Generation seminar EYF achieved the following aims:

  • received feedback and shared information on the work with the new online system and website;
  •  created a common understanding concerning the pilot activities supported by the EYF;
  • gained awareness about the different situations organisations address with the support of EYF grants;
  •  revitalised transparency and accountability between the European Youth Foundation and youth organisations;
  •  achieved open and informal networking between the EYF team and the people running projects with EYF grants;
  •  shared best practices concerning projects.

35 participants from the countries signatories to the European Cultural Convention took part in the seminar.

Material produced by the participants during the seminar:

  • Tool of tools (Collection of resources such as toolkits, videos, publications and manuals on Human Rights Education produced by institutions and NGOs. Non-exhaustive. NGOs may use the concept for other issues than HRE.)
  • The cartoon character "Adam" PowerPoint presentation (The PowerPoint explains how the EYF could use its virtual colleague Adam as a visibility tool, during and after visits to EYF supported projects.)
  • The cartoon character "Adam" presenting 2-way communication (Adam shows how NGOs exchange information with EYF and vice-versa via the online system.)
  • Evaluation tools (The tool gives an insight into several different methods that can be used in order to evaluate a project upon different contexts and aims. The evaluation of your work is essential as it helps you improve your work, and eventually learn which approaches and practices work best in a given situation.)
  • “Ready to apply?” checklist (The checklist helps NGOs prepare an online grant application.)
  • Partnership document (Explains what kind of partnerships youth NGOs can look for at loca level.)
