The EYF attended the European Leaders Training Seminar held by EGAM (European Grassroots Antiracist Movement) in Paris & Béziers from 13 to 16 March 2017 as part of its annual visits to supported projects.
The activity gathered participants from 10 different countries. This project aimed at encouraging the participation of young people in democratic processes. It sought to create the next generation of leaders who are more empowered and engaged in fighting for a democratic and integrated Europe against racism, anti-Semitism, racial discrimination and genocide denial. The participants attended conferences, debates with local communities, a documentary festival and some visits to places of memory in Paris (Bataclan, Shoah Memorial, Charlie Hebdo, Hyper Cacher). They focused on the importance of memory and transmission to fight against the rise of radicalisation and anti-Semitism.
