The winners of the International Art Competition for Children's Paintings "I saw the disaster with my eyes" were presented at a ceremony at the National Palace of Children in Sofia at the end of October. Participants from Serbia, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, India and the Philippines took part at the competition which was open to children between the ages of 6 and 18. The Competition, conducted under the auspices of the EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement, aims at raising children’s awareness to disasters as well as their knowledge on disasters and capacity to respond in case of an emergency.
