Administrative History
The Central Library started the collection in 1989 by gathering together all publications produced since 1949. In 2003 the collection was moved to the Directorate of Communication and Research, which made it available via the Infopoint. At the same time, Central Archives started to keep publications as archives. In 2007, the Directorate of Communications transferred its Infopoint collection to the Archives. Since then publications have been grouped together in one single collection.

CONTENT

The collection consists of Council of Europe publications dating from 1949 to the present. It includes works published by the Council of Europe, works published by Council of Europe Publishing (since 1992), and also material that the Council of Europe commissioned external institutions or publishing houses to produce. Some publications from the first few years are missing.

Publications deal with all the Organisation's fields of activity.

Publications have a public access level. Loans are authorised under certain conditions: direct loans for Council or Europe staff; inter-library loans for other persons.
