In her meeting today with Mr Jorge Faurie, the Ambassador of Argentina to France, Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, welcomed the keen interest of Argentina in the Council of Europe Conventions on Cybercrime and Data Protection. A technical meeting in March 2017 will pave the way for further co-operation in these matters.

The Deputy Secretary General also presented other key instruments of the Council of Europe open to non-member states, in particular GRECO, the Istanbul Convention, the Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and Conventions in the field of sport. Argentina expressed an interest in closer relations with the Organisation and in these other instruments open to non-member states, in particular those in the fight against corruption and domestic violence.
