Participating in the European Colloquy on “Shared and assisted living for disabled and elderly persons”, Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni stressed the need for national governments to urgently deal with deinstitutionalisation.

She also welcomed the new Council of Europe Disability Strategy 2017-2023, which is based on the progress achieved under the Action Plan 2006-2015 and which must allow us to “renew our efforts to close the implementation gap”.
