Coming soon: “Cyber South”

The European Union and the Council of Europe will soon launch a new project “Cyber South” to support countries of the Southern Neighbourhood to address the challenges of cybercrime and electronic evidence.  Experts from Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia reached agreement on the concept of the project during a workshop held on 6 and 7 March at the Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (C-PROC) in Bucharest. The Ambassadors of these countries to Romania joined the opening session. “Cyber South” is expected to start in mid-2017 with a budget of EUR 3.3 million and a duration of three years.
