The Council of Europe Secretariat was invited to the Conference of the South East European Cooperation Process on Local Development in the context of the Faro Convention. Organised by Croatia, the event hosted Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”.

Local development in the context of the Faro Convention was discussed, and the participating countries, most of which had already ratified the Convention, were encouraged to undertake actions to implement the Convention. The Secretariat reiterated its availability to work with the member states.
