Minister of Culture of Norway celebrates Saint Olav Ways

At the invitation of Ms Hofstad Hellelandt, Minister of Culture of Norway, Mr. Dominioni, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes and Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes, joined her and a group of people from different backgrounds the 25th July in Oslo to walk along the 653km of the pilgrim route, celebrating the 20 years anniversary for the reinvigoration of the St. Olav Pilgrim Ways in Norway.

The walk was facilitated by Hans Morten Løvrød, Director of the National Pilgrim Centre and Manager of the St Olav's Ways, certified “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” in 2010.The group, composed by government officials, religious leaders, Norway tourism specialists, trekking association, community leaders, journalists and musicians, travelled during the 4-day walking through Norwegian history, culture and landscape. The 29th July, they reached Trondheim, their final destination and burial site of Saint Olav, king of Norway in the 11th century, in time for the opening of the St. Olav's Church and Culture Festival.
