Representatives of Kyrgyz anti-corruption agencies and institutions took part in a study visit to the Council of Europe in the framework of the Project to Strengthen Prevention and Combating of Corruption in Kyrgyz Republic (SPCC-KY). The officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, General Prosecutor’s Office, Security Council, Financial Police, Supreme Court and Tax authority met with Council of Europe representatives to discuss European standards and monitoring mechanisms in the areas of anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and mutual legal assistance standards. 

Cases adjudicated by the European Court of Human Rights in the area of corruption, economic crime and asset recovery were also debated.

Kyrgyz authorities expressed their interest in enhancing cooperation with the Council of Europe, in particular with such mechanisms as GRECO, CEPEJ, CCEJ, as well as the PC-OC.
