Regional training on administrative anti-corruption inquiries

A four-day regional training on risk-based administrative anti-corruption inquiries has been held in Strasbourg from 17 to 20 May 2016, at the Council of Europe’s headquarters. The training brought together practitioners from several inspection bodies, audit authorities and anti-corruption agencies of Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. Participants studied the types and methods of administrative inquiries, public procurement risks, financial and accounting analysis techniques, and other aspects of administrative investigations, presented through a risk-based approach. In addition, several interactive group exercises and practical cases has increased the practitioners’ capacities in identifying and pursuing corruption-related infringements in their inspection work and facilitate the exchange of experience between participants from the three countries. This activity is the first regional event carried out in the framework of the SNAC 2 project “Promotion of good governance: fight against corruption and money-laundering”, part of the CoE/EU Joint Programme “Towards a Strengthened Democratic Governance in the Southern Mediterranean” for 2015-2017.
