Training of Trainers Course on Prevention and Combatting of Torture, Ill-treatment and Impunity

Training of Trainers (hereinafter – ToT) course on “Prevention and Combatting of Torture, Ill-treatment and Impunity” for the representatives of the People’s Advocate Office and members of the National Council for Prevention of Torture (hereinafter – NPM) of the Republic of Moldova is organised within the framework of the Council of Europe project “Support to Criminal Justice Reforms to the Republic of Moldova”, funded by the Government of Denmark.

The ToT course consists of two parts: the first part is devoted to the adult learning methodology, and the second, substantial part of the ToT covers the national and international legislative aspects on the prevention and combating of torture and ill-treatment, as well as regulations and best practices related to the activity of the NPM. The ToT course will be delivered in two training sessions during 26-29 June and 10-13 July 2017.

The objective of the ToT course is to prepare a group of trainers from the staff members of the People’s Advocate Office and members of the NPM, approximately 20 persons, for delivering further trainings to their peers on the topics covered by the TOT.

The ToT course falls within one of the objectives of the project “Support to Criminal Justice Reforms to the Republic of Moldova”: Institutional capacity developed to implement the mandates of the Ombudsperson and the National Preventive Mechanism in accordance with international standards recognised in the UN Paris Principles and the UN/CoE conventions against torture.
