The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe firmly condemns the terrorist attack committed yesterday evening at Istanbul international airport. It conveys its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its solidarity with the Turkish people and authorities in these tragic circumstances. The fight against terrorism is and will remain a priority for the Council of Europe in order to eradicate this scourge, in full respect for human rights, the rule of law and the democratic principles which unite its member States.
