Trainings of Trainers Launched under the Joint Project on Supporting Individual Application to the Constitutional Court in Turkey

 

Trainings of Trainers (ToT) planned to strengthen capacities of judges, prosecutors and lawyers on individual application system and fundamental rights and freedoms were launched on 23 February 2017. In order to support the contents of the trainings, rapporteurs from the Constitutional Court participate in ToTs delivered by national academics.

Initially, Training of Trainers will be organized for nearly 60 judges and prosecutors in coordination with the Turkish Justice Academy. Following the completion of their trainings judges, prosecutors and lawyers will give regional/local trainings to their peers. These training sessions aim to reach 3000 judges and prosecutors who have been recently recruited.

Training program will focus on the following subjects:

  • Application procedure and admissibility,
  • Right to life /prohibition of torture,
  • Right to liberty and security,
  • Right to a fair trial,
  • Right to respect for private life and family life
  • Freedom of thought, conscience and religion/ freedom of expression /freedom of assembly and association,
  • Right to property

Trainings for lawyers will be launched in June in coordination with the Union of Turkish Bar Associations.
