Study Visit of the Constitutional Court of Turkey to the Constitutional Courts of Hungary and Croatia

 

The eleventh study visit under the Joint Project “Supporting Individual Application to the Constitutional Court in Turkey” was organized to the Constitutional Court of Hungary in Budapest on 1-2 October 2018 and to the Constitutional Court of Croatia in Zagreb on 4-5 October 2018. A total of 18 members, rapporteurs and experts of the Turkish Constitutional Court (TCC) participated in the study visit organized with the participation of Mr Zühtü Arslan, the President of the TCC.

Presidents of the Courts made presentations on the structuring, procedures (individual application and norm review, work flow system etc.) and admissibility criteria of the Constitutional Courts and exchanges were made about their experiences within the context of workload and major issues experienced in leading judgments during the study visit. In the last session, the delegations were briefed on the execution of judgments and relationships with other institutions such us national courts, government/administration, Parliament, European courts (ECtHR and the Court of Justice of the European Union).

Mr László Trócsányi, Ministry of Justice of Hungary visited Mr Zühtü Arslan, President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey and exchanges were made about the work of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, administrative judiciary in Turkey and relations with the European Court of Human Rights.
