Working together effectively: Management and Co-operation Models between Prison and Probation Services


 

23rd Council of Europe Conference of Directors of Prison and Probation Services (CDPPS)

The 23rd Council of Europe Conference of Directors of Prison and Probation Services (CDPPS) has taken place in Jõhvi, Estonia on 19-20 June 2018 and was hosted by the Estonian Prison Service, the headquarters of which are situated there. It was open to invited participants only who are high-ranking representatives of the prison and probation services of the member and observer States to the Council of Europe, international organisations, as well as renowned experts and researchers working in the field of execution of penal sanctions and measures.

More than 130 participants attended the Conference. This year’s theme was: WORKING TOGETHER EFFECTIVELY: MANAGEMENT AND CO-OPERATION MODELS BETWEEN PRISON AND PROBATION SERVICES. There were plenary sessions and workshops which dealt with issues related to leadership and management models; lessons learnt from the privatisation of services; capacities and workloads; interchangeability/complementarity of staff and professional ethics.
