Council of Europe : green light to the accession of Serbia and Montenegro
Strasbourg, 26.03.2003 - The Committee of Ministers today decided to invite Serbia and Montenegro to join the Council of Europe as its 45th member.

Strasbourg, 13.03.2003 - In a letter to the Chairman-in-Office of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers, Maltese Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Borg, Assembly President Peter Schieder today calls for the accession of Serbia and Montenegro as the 45th member state at the Parliamentary Assembly's spring session (Strasbourg, 31 March - 4 April 2003).

Council of Europe Secretary General welcomes Maltese "Yes" to EU
Strasbourg, 10.03.2003 - Council of Europe Secretary General Walter Schwimmer today welcomed the "Yes" vote in the Maltese referendum on whether the country should join the European Union on 1 May 2004.

Council of Europe Maltese Presidency sets out its priorities
Strasbourg, 07.11.2002 - Maltese Foreign Minister Joseph Borg today set out the priorities of the Council of Europe Maltese presidency for the next six months.
It will focus on two basic objectives :

Secretary General on official visit to Malta
Strasbourg, 09.10.2002 - Council of Europe Secretary General Walter Schwimmer will pay an official visit to Malta on 10 and 11 October. The purpose of the visit is to finalise preparations for the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which Malta will assume for six months as from 7 November 2002.
