Committee of Ministers Chairmanship – Luxembourg: May - November 2002

Lydie Polfer : A third Summit will be able to define the Council of Europe’s priority tasks

On opening the session of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ministers, the Luxembourg Chairman-in-Office Lydie Polfer emphasised the vital contribution that the Council of Europe is making to the building of a united Europe. She said that, at the beginning of a 21st century on which a thorough redefinition of the multilateral European architecture had made its mark, a third Summit would provide an opportunity to define the priority tasks for the Council of Europe which resulted from this new situation.
