The
Pompidou group is launching its 4th European Drug Prevention
prize which aims to highlight good-quality drug prevention projects that
have proved success in practice in involving young people.
The
dates of submission are: 2 December 2009 – 31 March 2010
For the
first time, the winning projects will be chosen from all 47 Council of
Europe member states as opposed to 35 member states of the Pompidou Group
previously.The Prize will be awarded to three innovative grass-root projects
led by young people for young people at the Ministerial Conference taking
place on 3 and 4 November 2010. The prize-winners each receive a trophy, a
diploma and the sum of € 5,000.
Special attention will be given to innovative approaches, such as modern
methods of communication like video, mobile phone or Internet.
The project
proposals will be examined by a jury made up of seven young people from
seven European countries (Finland, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta, the Russian
Federation, Portugal and Turkey). They will be helped by an advisory group
of drug prevention experts.
The
applications should reach the Pompidou Group Secretariat by 31 March
2010.
