COUNCIL OF EUROPE LAUNCHES ITS PROJECT ON CHILD AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION

Advisory Group on child and youth participation has been established under the co-management structures of the Directorate of Youth and Sport. The terms of reference for the Advisory Group were adopted by the Committee of Ministers in May  2009.

The Advisory Group consists of 10 members and 5 other representatives. The final list of participants of the Group will be found here soon.

The main tasks of the advisory group would be

  • to develop a methodological framework  for national policy reviews  in the field of child and youth participation in pilot countries;
  • to support the work done in the participating countries;
  • to conduct the work on CoE guidelines for child and youth participation;
  • to suggest ways to add/enhance a child and youth participation dimension to the current international reviews of national youth policies implemented by the Directorate of Youth and Sport.
  • to prepare a proposal for a possible CM recommendation on child and youth participation.

The first meeting of the Advisory Group will be organised In Helsinki, Finland, on December 1, 2009 in conjunction with a Round Table discussion on child and youth participation on December 2nd. See a concept paper on the events here.
