■ About the CDCJ
Set up under the direct authority of the Committee of Ministers, the European Committee on legal co-operation has, since 1963, been responsible for many areas of the legal activities of the Council of Europe.
The achievements of the CDCJ are to be found, in particular, in the large number of Treaties and Recommendations which it has prepared for the Committee of Ministers. CDCJ meets at the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (France). The governments of all member states may appoint members. Such members are entitled to vote on matters arising within the CDCJ.
