High-level meetings with the European Union - 16 March 2005
The Secretary General and Jan Truszczynski – Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing the Chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers – took part in the regular Council of Europe/EU Quadripartite meeting, together with Luxembourg’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn, representing the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and EU Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner. Whilst in Brussels, Terry Davis met Javier Solana, the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. They discussed in particular the present situation in Kosovo, as well as possible future developments in the province. Later in the day, the Secretary General and Franco Frattini, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner responsible for justice, freedom and security, agreed to begin without delay preparations for the EU's accession to the European Convention on Human Rights.

Meeting with the President of the European Commission- 1 March 2005
On the occasion of his official visit to Bruxelles on Tuesday 1 March, the Secretary General met President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and European Commissioner for Culture Jan Figel, as well as Ambassadors of the EU member states.

Secretary General to meet Vice-President of the European Commission
20.04.2005 - During his third visit to Brussels, on Thursday 21 April, Terry Davis will meet Vice-President of the European Commission Franco Frattini to continue discussions on the future EU Fundamental Rights Agency and its cooperation with the Council of Europe, as well as on joint action in the fight against corruption and organised crime.
