Debates on assistance to patients at end of life and the lawfulness of detentions by the United States in Guantánamo Bay as well as the freedom of the press and the working conditions of journalists in risk zones were among highlights of the Spring Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which took place in Strasbourg from 25 to 29 April 2005.
