Assembly debates the future of the Kaliningrad region

[25 SEP 2002] The Assembly has debated reports dealing with EU enlargement and the Kaliningrad region , by Lara Ragnarsdottir (Iceland, EDG), and with ensuring the region’s prosperous future, by Sigita Burbiene (Lithuania, SOC). The reports focus on possibilities of setting up a facilitated visa regime for road and rail transit from and to the Russian exclave, and increasing development aid to the region and investments in it.
