Slovenia and the Council of Europe

Accession
Slovenia became the 29th member State of the Council of Europe on 14 May 1993.

Committee of Ministers
- Samuel ŽBOGAR, Foreign Minister
- Marjetica BOLE, Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe since May 2005.

Parliamentary Assembly
Slovenia is represented in the Parliamentary Assembly by a delegation of 3 representatives and 3 substitutes, including:
- Darja LAVTIŽAR-BEBLER (ALDE), head of the delegation.

Congress of Local and Regional Authorities
Slovenia is represented in the Congress by a delegation of 3 representatives and 3 substitutes.

Budget
The Council of Europe's ordinary budget for 2009 is € 205 002 000. The contribution of Slovenia is € 460 844.50 (i.e. 0.2248 %).

Human Rights
Ratification of the European Convention on Human Rights on 28 June 1994.
- Judge to the European Court of Human Rights: Boštjan ZUPANČIČ.
- Applications allocated to a decision body (*) in 2008 : 1353
- Judgments in 2008: 9 of which 8 violations
