Poland and the Council of Europe Accession Poland became the 25th member State of the Council of Europe on 26 November 1991.

Parliamentary Assembly
Poland is represented in the Parliamentary Assembly by a delegation of 12 representatives and 12 substitutes, including:

Congress of Local and Regional Authorities
Poland is represented in the Congress by a delegation of 12 representatives and 12 substitutes, including:
- Konstanty DOMBROWICZ (ILDG), Bydgoszcz, head of the delegation.

Budget
The Council of Europe's ordinary budget for 2009 is € 205 002 000. The contribution of Poland is € 4 784 746.68 (i.e. 2.3340 %).

Human Rights
Ratification of the European Convention on Human Rights on 19 January 1993.
- Judge to the European Court of Human Rights: Lech GARLICKI.
- Applications allocated to a decision body (*) in 2008 : 4369
- Judgments in 2008: 141 of which 129 violations and 9 non-violations
