Luxembourg and the Council of Europe

Accession
Luxembourg was one of the ten States which founded the Council of Europe on 5 May 1949.

Committee of Ministers
- Jean ASSELBORN, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration
- Ronald MAYER, Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe since January 2003.

Parliamentary Assembly
Luxembourg is represented in the Parliamentary Assembly by a delegation of 3 representatives and 3 substitutes, including:
- Lydie ERR (SOC), head of the delegation.
- Anne BRASSEUR (ALDE), Chairperson of the Committee on Culture, Science and Education.

Congress of Local and Regional Authorities
Luxembourg is represented in the Congress by a delegation of 3 representatives and 3 substitutes, including:

Budget
The Council of Europe's ordinary budget for 2009 is € 205 002 000. The contribution of Luxembourg is € 417 179.07 (i.e 0.2035 %).
