Estonia became the 27th member State of the Council of Europe on 14 May 1993.

Parliamentary Assembly
Estonia is represented in the Parliamentary Assembly by a delegation of 3 representatives and 3 substitutes, including:

- Kristiina OJULAND (ALDE), third Vice-Chairperson of the Political Affairs Committee.

Budget
The Council of Europe's ordinary budget for 2009 is € 205 002 000. The contribution of Estonia is € 246 002.40 (i.e. 0.1200 %).

Ratification of the European Convention on Human Rights on 16 April 1996.
