Denmark and the Council of Europe Accession Denmark was one of the ten States which founded the Council of Europe on 5 May 1949.

The Council of Europe's ordinary budget for 2009 is € 205 002 000. The contribution of Denmark is € 3 024 599.51 (i.e. 1.4754 %).
